What’s New in Reply: Warmer LinkedIn Outreach, Smarter Re-engagement, and More

Cold outreach has a trust problem. The first message a prospect ever sees from you is usually an ask, and asks from strangers get ignored. Layer onto that the constant handoff between desktop and phone, the re-engagement follow-ups that all sound the same because nobody has time to write ten versions, and the settings changes that mean stopping what you’re doing to dig through a menu. None of it is a strategy problem. It’s friction.

August’s release chips away at exactly that. You can now warm up a prospect before you ever land in their inbox, give different cold leads genuinely different second chances, and run more of Reply from your phone than ever before. Here’s what shipped.

Automatic LinkedIn Comments: Higher Reply Rates From a Warmer First Touch

Nobody likes being the first voice a stranger hears when that voice is selling something. Cold DMs and cold emails carry that weight by default, because you’re a name with zero context behind it.

Reply can now add a comment on a prospect’s recent LinkedIn post as its own sequence step, placed before your first direct message. You tell the AI how to comment, tone, what to reference, what to avoid, and you can test the prompt on a real post before it runs at scale. Set how recent a post needs to be, and if a prospect hasn’t posted anything fresh, the step just skips them.

Think of a prospect who posted about a product launch last week. Your sequence comments something genuinely relevant to that post two days before your outreach email lands. By the time they see your name in their inbox, it’s not the first time they’ve seen it. That’s the difference between “who is this” and “oh, that person again.”

The sequence becomes a short arc instead of a cold open: engage, become familiar, start the conversation, make the offer.

Multiple Re-engagement Flows: Recover More Pipeline From Cold Leads

A prospect who went quiet after a pricing question and a prospect who ghosted after “let’s revisit next quarter” are not the same problem. Most re-engagement setups treat them like they are, one flow, one tone, one set of follow-ups for everybody who stopped replying.

Jason AI SDR now lets you build multiple re-engagement flows and assign the right one to each prospect. Set a default flow, then reassign individual prospects straight from the Inbox when their situation calls for something different. Each flow gets its own timing, instructions, and sample answers, and Jason generates the actual follow-up copy based on what was said earlier in the conversation, not a generic template.

Picture a prospect who paused because of budget timing versus one who paused because they wanted a competitor comparison. One flow follows up in eight weeks with a check-in. The other follows up in three days with exactly the comparison they asked for. Jason handles both without you having to remember which prospect needed what.

Depending on your AI Replies settings, Jason sends these automatically or queues them as drafts for your review first.

Approve Jason’s Messages From Your Phone: Outreach That Doesn’t Wait for Your Laptop

A sequence shouldn’t stall just because you’re between meetings. Approval Mode used to mean exactly that, though, if a message needed sign-off and you were away from your desk, it waited.

Pending Approvals now live in the Reply mobile app. Review every AI-generated message waiting on you, edit or regenerate the copy that isn’t quite right, and approve, skip, or delete in a couple of taps. Filter by Email, LinkedIn, Sequence, or Owner, and work through the newest or oldest items first, whichever clears your queue faster. It’s the same Approval Mode you already know from web, just not tied to a screen on your desk anymore.

Imagine a reply comes in while you’re commuting. Instead of it sitting untouched until you’re back at your laptop, you open the app, glance at Jason’s draft, tap Approve, and it’s out the door before you’ve reached your stop.

There’s no extra cost to use it, and no separate setup beyond having the app installed.

Reusable Sequence Structures: Build Once, Scale What Already Works

Every sequence generator makes an assumption about what your outreach should look like. Sometimes that assumption is right. Sometimes you know your market better than any default does, and rebuilding the same channel order by hand, every single time, gets old fast.

Step 4 of the Sequence Creation Wizard now lets you choose exactly how Jason structures your outreach before it generates a sequence. Pick from Default structures the Reply team built from analysis of high-performing sequences, reuse My structures you’ve saved from past sequences, pull from Team structures shared across your org, or build something new from scratch and save it for yourself, your team, or the whole company.

Say your best-performing pattern is LinkedIn connection, wait two days, then email, something you landed on after months of testing. Instead of recreating that logic every time you launch a new sequence, you save it once as a structure and Jason builds every future sequence on top of it.

That turns whatever’s already working for your team into something repeatable, instead of something you’re reverse-engineering from memory each time strategy shifts.

Reply on Mobile Browser: Full Platform Access From Any Device

Outbound work doesn’t stop the moment you stand up from your desk, but for a long time, Reply mostly did. A phone browser got you a squeezed, half-usable version of the platform, if it loaded cleanly at all.

Reply.io now runs as a fully adapted experience on phone browsers, rebuilt for smaller screens rather than just shrunk to fit them. That covers full sequence management (build, edit, pause, launch), inbox and reply handling, contact and list management, and reporting dashboards resized to make sense on a phone. Essentially every core function, adapted rather than stripped down.

The moment this earns its keep is the one you can’t schedule: you’re away from your laptop and something needs a response right now. A hot lead gets an answer while it’s still hot instead of a mental note for later. A sequence that’s about to send the wrong message to a hundred more contacts gets paused on the spot. An idea from a walk becomes a live sequence before you lose it.

Agentic Chat Now Changes Settings for You: Skip the Settings Menu Entirely

Changing a mailbox’s daily send limit or disabling a LinkedIn account shouldn’t require three clicks through a settings menu you only visit twice a month and can never quite remember the layout of.

Agentic Chat can now make those changes directly. Say what you want changed in plain language, and it confirms with you before anything actually happens. That covers mailboxes (sender name, safety limits, signature, tags, or deleting an account), LinkedIn accounts (enable, disable, safety limits, linking a voice profile), contacts (custom fields, handling rules, enrichment mode), and sending schedules (create, update, set a default), plus the blacklist and workspace email settings.

Need a mailbox’s send limit raised before a big push? Ask. Need Fridays blocked out of your sending schedule ahead of a holiday? Same one-line request, same result. And it’s not limited to the Reply app anymore, the same commands now work in Slack, so you never have to log in at all to make the change.

The settings menu doesn’t disappear. It just stops being the only way in.

The Bigger Picture

Look at these updates together and the direction is clear: outreach is getting warmer before the pitch, more personalized after the silence, and more available on whatever device happens to be in your hand. A prospect gets engaged before they’re asked for anything. A cold lead gets the follow-up that actually fits their situation instead of a generic nudge. And you get to act on all of it, approve a message, fix a sequence, change a setting, without being chained to a desk to do it.

That’s the throughline behind Reply and Jason: outbound that adapts to how people actually buy, and a platform that adapts to how you actually work. Whether you’re scaling a full AI SDR motion with Jason or running your team’s engagement through Reply, August’s updates are built to keep pipeline moving no matter where you are.
