Bulk email is an automated marketing or sales message sent to a large group of recipients at once.

The term is also referred to as mass email or email blast.

Depending on their purpose, there are several types of bulk emails:

• informational (newsletters),
• educational (nurturing or retention campaigns),
• promotional emails (announcements, special deals), and
• acquisition emails (cold outreach).

Depending on the scale and content, different types of mass mailing campaigns are distributed through email marketing platforms (Mailchimp, GetResponse, or ActiveCampaign) or sales engagement platforms (Reply.io).
