From a 4% to a 12% appointment booking rate in three months — how a solo-founder consultancy scaled its outbound without losing the personal touch its brand is built on.

Management Consulting Firm

Luis Báez Luis Báez

Luis Baez is the Founder of Revenue Enablement Lab, a revenue architecture firm that builds outbound systems and revenue operating infrastructure for consultants, agencies, and expert practices doing $100K–$5M a year.

A firm built on a proprietary method

Revenue Enablement Lab is just over a year old. Luis Baez started it alone, drawing on his background as Director of Global Revenue Enablement at a startup, where he ran account-based outbound for Fortune 500 and Fortune 1000 companies. His goal with the Lab was to bring that same rigor to smaller firms that usually can’t access it. A year in, the team has grown to include a Director of Revenue Strategy, a VA — and Jason AI SDR.

The challenge: enterprise-level personalization, done by hand

Before Jason AI SDR, Luis ran outbound the way most solo founders do — handshaking at events, manual LinkedIn networking, and email. He pushed to make it stand out, dropping voice notes and memes into LinkedIn DMs to break up the monotony he saw on the channel, and eventually built this into an approach he calls the “human interrupt method.”

The method worked. Scaling it didn’t.

Every client interaction at Revenue Enablement Lab is white-glove, starting with the first message. Personalizing every contact at that standard, by hand, was exhausting. Luis also had no reliable way to track conversations or tell which segments were actually converting. He tried solving it himself first, stitching together tools from YouTube tutorials by outbound “gurus.”

He looked at VAs and agencies next. None of it solved the real problem: finding a system that could personalize at scale without losing what made his outreach work in the first place.

We implemented our first sequence, and within 11 days, we saw our first automated booking on the calendar. And from there on in, it was just magic.

Why Jason AI SDR

Luis wanted strong controls, real training capability, and enough integrations that the firm wouldn’t need to rebuild its outbound stack every time it grew. He watched the demo, and it clicked within five minutes — a way to use data and automation to personalize at scale while still protecting his voice and his reputation with clients.

Getting Jason up to speed

Reply’s team walked the rollout methodically, pacing implementation so the team didn’t overcommit before the system was ready. The first sequence went live almost immediately, and Revenue Enablement Lab booked its first automated meeting within 11 days.

Rather than switching straight to full automation, Luis and his team manually reviewed every outbound message for the first few weeks — a way to build trust in the system and fine-tune its voice, faster than training a team of human reps would have taken. Once the messaging matched their standards, they moved Jason to full autopilot, and now mainly touch it to reflect new offers or shifts in how the market is responding.

How Revenue Enablement Lab uses Jason AI SDR

Jason now runs the firm’s outbound across email and LinkedIn, trained on the “human interrupt method” Luis built by hand:

  • Multi-channel, multi-modal sequences — combining email with LinkedIn voice notes and messaging
  • Per-rep voice tuning — messaging reads differently depending on which team member’s account it’s sent from, since Luis’s founder-to-founder tone needs to land differently than his Director of Revenue Strategy’s
  • ICP segmentation — after data from the first two weeks confirmed which of two customer segments to prioritize, the team split sequences out by ICP instead of running one blended campaign
  • Intent-based lead scoring — Jason surfaces and scores leads using signals like engagement, published thought leadership, and likely tech stack
  • Retargeting — the system also reaches website visitors and the followers of competitors, a capability Luis says he hadn’t even considered before adopting it

Results

Metric Month 1 Month 2 Month 3
Appointment booking rate 4% 7% 12%

Before choosing Jason AI SDR, Luis had researched other agencies and automation services; most, he says, were promising around a 2% booking rate. Hitting 4% in month one already beat that. By month three, at 12%, he calls it “the inflection point for our firm.”

The impact showed up elsewhere too:

  • About 5 hours saved immediately on prospecting and follow-up, from the moment the system went live
  • Roughly 3x higher email reply rates than when Luis ran outbound manually or with a previous automated tool
  • Expansion into a new market — previously limited to the US West Coast by capacity, the firm scaled its reach across the US and into Canada, closing its first client in Toronto

We almost immediately closed our first client in Toronto. That was a huge turning point for the firm — that changed us from this little fish in this little pond into a firm that is truly multinational.

Call quality shifted too. Jason won’t offer a calendar invite when it’s unsure a prospect is a fit — it asks qualifying questions first. Luis now asks every prospect what made them take the call, and hears some version of the same answer: the message felt like it was written specifically for them.

“Would you be surprised to learn that up until I got on this call, it wasn’t me that was messaging you?” — the question Luis says he now asks on nearly every call, and the moment prospects realize how personalized an automated sequence can be.

What’s next

Outbound at Revenue Enablement Lab is no longer a one-person job. Luis calls it “a company-wide effort” now, with the whole team working inside the system instead of manually tracking conversations. Looking ahead, he’s planning to package the combination of Jason AI SDR and his own “human interrupt method” into an offering for his own clients. His one ask of the product: that it eventually extend past outbound into customer service, renewals, and upsells.
